Dr. Buchanan offers a wide variety of up-to-date procedures, including porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges, implants, tooth-colored fillings, and tooth whitening, utilizing the latest in dental technology. He was recently published in the Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry and also completed the requirements for the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2010. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. Dr. Buchanan graduated with honors from Auburn University in 2002 and earned his doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2006. Looking to further his education, he completed a general practice residency at Denver Health Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, with a focus on medically compromised patients, oral surgery, and advanced treatment planning. Dr. Buchanan practiced for 2 years in Denver before moving back to Birmingham.
